Burke-Gallon Family Reunion - Ft. Knox, Kentucky
When reflecting on our past reunions, we can truly say that through our humble beginnings, the Lord has blessed us in our efforts to take our family reunions to higher levels.  Our first reunion was held on a weekend and consisted of a picnic and an inspirational service.  Our last reunion was actually a 4-day event which consisted of several activities.

At our last reunion in 2005, I remember when we got off the plane in Kentucky; the welcoming crew were there waiting to take us to our hotels.  It was so good to be out of the air; and even better when we saw family faces we had not seen before.

After checking into our rooms and partially unpacking, we were whisked to the beautiful home of Irvin and Tanya Lyons, III.  Once there, again we met other family members we had not seen.

Irvin and Tanya were great hosts; however, you could sense that his sister, Cynthia McKoy was the glue to everything.  It was evident that love and hard work was the core of this reunion.

All of the activities (Fish Fry, Banquet, Picnic, Bowling Competition, General Paton's Exhibit, and the Inspirational Service) were well planned.  Even the door prizes were great!  The Honey Bee Bunch (Cassandra, Angela, and Carolyn - 3 sisters) won door prizes one after the other.

One of the highlights of the reunion for me was when we were finished with the activities of the day, we went down to the special hospitality suite and enjoyed red velvet cake provided by Sylvia Oguntoyinbo.  Sylvia, please feel free to bring red velvet cake and conch fritters!

As we prepared to leave, we were eager to be going home, yet looked forward to yet another time when we would see each other again . . . our 7th Burke-Gallon Family Reunion.
